Indian Machine Tools Industry Case for Supply Chain Performance Analysis

The article highlights the importance of performance assessment and benchmarking of supply chains within an industry to understand the differences in performances. It provides the opportunity to use publicly accessible accounting data to compare supply chain performance of publicly listed firms. The article uses the case of the Indian machine tools industry to analyze the industry. It demonstrates different techniques to analyze financial statements of selected firms within an industry and further mapping the respective performance outcomes with events from published reports to understand reasons for the same in selected firms.
