The case describes the evolution of Atlassian, a born global enterprise software firm from Australia founded by two young business IT graduates in 2002. By early 2009, the firm has become one of Australia’s fastest growing technology ventures, had revenues of $35 million (nearly all of them outside Australia), thousands of customers around the globe and multiple offices. The founders’ ambition is to grow Atlassian into a $100 million company with 50,000 customers worldwide. The case invites a discussion of Atlassian’s strategy, its genesis, and sustainability and scalability in international markets.
