Volume 16: 2019 pp. 213-216: ABSTRACT
This case poses an ethical dilemma for Cassandra. She has been with BSG for three years. In her short time with BSG, she has impressed the partners with her work and her work ethic. She is someone the partners consider as having an excellent potential to join the partnership of BSG. Senior attorney and colleague, Noah, is strongly encouraging her to order an after-hours meal in violation of the firm’s Expense Policy and rationalizing his actions. The objectives of the case are to: allow students to take on the role of a decision-maker in an ethical dilemma involving a breach of company expense policy in the workplace; identify and consider moral conflicts in the case; delineate possible alternatives based on ethical frameworks for decision-making; make an informed ethical decision and reflect on the outcome.
